The Present Which Is Tied With The Past And Future

“The Present, Which Is Tied With The Past And Future.”

The relationship of time and money is something that I struggle to understand. I have often heard many people say that time is money.

Time is an age, an era, a duration. The lifespan of man is measured from the very first breath that he takes to the last broken vestiges of his existence. His time has ended up to that point.

Time and age are constantly moving forward in unison. Which is why if you truly wish to understand the past then closely look towards those people whose once black hair has turned to white. Look to those whose faces and bodies have been riddled with deep lines and wrinkles over a lifetime, like maps telling their own story. Look to those whose weak steps can only be taken with the help of a walking stick.

Similarly, to look at the future, glance upon the breathing angles whose tiny raised limbs to search to be taken into the safety and comfort of loving arms. Look for those young ones who play innocently making sand castles by day and then by night take pleasure in asking endless impossible questions. Perhaps you may also recall your past and future played out in the same way on the same green grass. Maybe you can still visualize that image of everyone laughing out loudly in joyful togetherness.

And those youthful ones whom today have the strength in their strides to happily carry the burdens of others as well as their own, moving onwards, and having all the answers to those impossible questions that were once asked in the innocent years. This is the present.

The present, which is tied with the past and future. Whatever the events of the past and whatever the future holds, one can still sit on that green grass and laugh out loudly to one’s heart’s content.

If we are to make the best of our today, then we must take the past and lean upon it as our faithful walking stick and take tomorrow as the answer to all of our ceaseless questions.

Time is not money. Time is an era.
